Last year, the family went in search of a workshop space and found the South Second Street space in Miamisburg to be working well.
“After speaking with the building owner of our Tipp store, what we offer and our vision for Simple Craftsmen, he mentioned the store space available at the front of the building,” said Popejoy. “In January, we made the decision to open the second site here in Miamisburg. “
She said Simple Craftsmen chose Miamisburg because it is “a wonderful city with a lot of community involvement.”

“A lot of Miamisburg residents have told us that they would like to see more retail locations downtown and that we look like a perfect fit,” Popejoy said. “Everyone we’ve spoken to, from customers to other businesses, has been very welcoming. The positive feedback is very encouraging and we are very happy to be here.
The opening of the Miamisburg site allowed Simple Craftsmen to grow, she said.
“We already have orders for custom carpentry projects, antique restoration projects and more,” said Popejoy. “Everyone who has stopped by the store seems to appreciate the quality of our antiques and woodworking. “
Handcrafted wooden products in the shop range from river cutting boards to river tables, Lichtenberg coasters to coat racks, and more.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday to Saturday. For more information visit www.simplecraftsmen.com. An opening ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 27 at 11 a.m.
