Win tickets to the 54th Annual South African Association of Antiques, Art and Design Fair

The South African Antique, Art and Design Association will be holding their annual fair from November 10-12 at the Killarney Country Club.

The show, now in its 54th year, will host 15 local and international exhibitors. Paul Mrkusic, the association’s CEO, said not all exhibits were strictly antiques, as there would also be 20th century artefacts.

Mrkusic added that what made the fair stand out was the variety. It will feature art, antique furniture, silverware from the 1600s and a Dutch merchant who will display Dutch antiques as well as oriental antiques.

Some of the pieces on display include a selection of Chinese porcelain bowls, dating from the 1600s, vintage jewelry, and Cape Rococo furniture.

Mrkusic also highlighted some exciting exhibitions, including that of Alvaro Etcheberry, an Argentinian silversmith who will display items such as handmade silver handles and wine goblets; and Thami Dlamini, who runs a print studio that provides African artists with a platform to display their work.

There will also be tours of the show, hosted by Mrkusic, which will allow visitors to get to know the exhibitors and their exhibits.

Twenty tickets to the South African Antiques, Art and Design Fair will be up for grabs. To win two tickets to the fair, answer this question: What is the name of the Argentinian silversmith who will exhibit his work at the art fair?

Send your response to [email protected] before 3 p.m. The winners will be announced on November 10.
